Do you ever have trouble accepting the grace of God? You know, if I am totally honest, I have to say that from time to time, I struggle with fully accepting God's grace in my own life. Now I know full well, that I am saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. But I have a strong tendency to fall into the trap of performance-based acceptance. Living as if God loved me more when I do well, and less when I don't. So, here's the truth: God's love and acceptance for you and me is not based on anything in you or me. It's all based on Christ. We are accepted in the Beloved, and the Beloved is Jesus. The more we understand and believe and receive this important truth, the more we'll be able to stand in awe of God's amazing grace and live in victory all to the glory of God! Now, that's REAL HOPE.
