  • Judgment Day is Coming

10/14/2020 In the 1960's, Winston Churchill made this observation about morality in Great Britain saying, “The moral landslide in Great Britain can be traced to the fact that heaven and hell are no longer preached in the land.” Now, if his statement was true then, how much more appropriate is it for today? People today have conveniently forgotten that God is "holy, holy, holy." And they fail to comprehend the ominous warning in Hebrews 10:31, “It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Continue reading…

  • Filled with the Spirit

10/13/2020 When I was in college, we talked about people being of fire for the Lord. An on-fire Christian was one who loved Jesus with all his heart and was totally controlled and surrendered to the leadership of the Holy Spirit. That's what the Bible calls being "filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18). You see, the moment a person turns from sin and self and receives Jesus as Savior and Lord, that person is forgiven of all his sins ... and given the gift of the Holy Spirit to dwell within. Continue reading…

  • Where the Rubber Meets the Road

10/12/2020 Have you heard the expression WHERE THE RUBBER MEETS THE ROAD? It speaks of the real test of something. Now I believe the test of Christianity ... where the rubber meets the road is found at home. Anyone can praise God at church ... but what about at home? You see we can fake a good marriage and family at church, but we certainly can't at home. So what is the answer? Continue reading…

  • A New Normal

10/9/2020 On March 11, 2011, an earthquake hit off the coast of Japan. The tsunami that followed brought tremendous devastation to the land and the people. In the span of a few short minutes, thousands of lives were taken, and cities were virtually erased from the landscape. Very few of us can relate to that kind of devastation, but all of us can relate to the storms of life that come out of nowhere, hit us hard and turn everything upside down. Continue reading…

  • Marriage Peace is Missing

10/8/2020 Many marriages are in trouble. For lots of couples, they entered into marriage thinking they were getting the ideal. But when the honeymoon wears off and real-life hits them in the face, their ideal often turns into an ordeal ... and they begin wanting a new deal. What can be done for a marriage that has hit the rocks? The Bible tells us God specializes in giving beauty for ashes. Continue reading…

  • Fortify Your Family Against Satan

10/7/2020 Years ago, I went on a mission trip to Africa where we slept in an encampment surrounded by an electric fence. Why? Because there were hungry lions on the other side of the fence! And if that fence had a flaw in it, the lions would’ve had an easy breakfast. You know, there’s a reason the Bible says Satan “prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8). Continue reading…

  • The Dating Game

10/6/2020 Why do so many marriages fail? Surely there are a number of reasons, but one of the key reason I have found is this: So many people make a bad choice. Listen, if you want to make a good choice in a marriage partner, ask yourself some key questions in the dating process and heed the warning signs Continue reading…

  • What's Your Weakness?

10/5/2020 Let me ask you a question: what are your weaknesses? You know we all have weaknesses. We don't like them, but they are still there. Some are weak when it comes to physical appetites and the lust of the flesh. Others are weak when it comes to the issues of jealousy, anger, greed, or pride. Continue reading…

  • The Taming of the Tongue

10/2/2020 In the human body, there is a little two-ounce slab of muscle called the tongue that is packed with power, either for good or evil. The tongue has the power to bless or curse, to build up or burn down, to bring life or usher in death ... so we must be extremely careful how we use it. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Continue reading…

  • Just Say No

10/1/2020 Sin is like a lonely little cancer cell. It always starts out small, but it never stays small. It grows and metastasizes. It grows from a single drink to a full-blown alcohol addiction … it grows from fooling around to premarital sex and an unwanted pregnancy. It grows from a penny ante poker game to a online gambling addiction. Continue reading…
