Insecurity?

I remember my first day in first grade. I knew no one and I was so nervous. I desperately wanted to make friends. I wanted my classmates to like me, and I was afraid they may not. Every first grader struggles with insecurity ... and so do many adults. Insecurity in who we are is a real issue. What is the cure? Constant praise and personal reassurance? No. The cure for insecurity is in the Lord and His grace. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15: “But by the grace of God I am what I am.” It is God's grace that allows you to be accepted in the Beloved. It is not your wit or wisdom or good works that make you acceptable to God. It is His amazing grace. If you are struggling with insecurity today, let me encourage you to rest in the truth of God's grace--and what is His grace? It is His undeserved, unearned favor toward those who look to Him and trust in Him. Now that's REAL HOPE.
