How Do You See Yourself?

Maybe you are like the millions of Christians who struggle with really believing, accepting, and enjoying the personal love of God. Maybe you have no problem believing God loves others, but you have terrible trouble believing God could love you, knowing all the bad things you have done—even since you have become a Christian. Sin can surely weigh us down and steal our joy and feeling of worth.  But here is the great news that is 100% true: Jesus loves you! He loves you so much that He willingly died for you on the cross. You matter to Him. If you are a born-again follower of Jesus Christ, you are—dare I say it—Just like the apostle, John,—"the disciple whom Jesus loves."  Let that truth penetrate your heart!  Listen, you and I may not feel worthy of His love (because we aren't), but He loves us anyway.  The cross proves it. Start seeing yourself the way John saw himself, as "the disciple whom Jesus loves." When you truly accept His love for you, everything changes. You stop striving for an earned acceptance, and you start enjoying His amazing grace! In that truth, we can find Real Hope.
