Do you have peace today, a deep and abiding calmness within, regardless of your circumstances?  So many Christians don’t enjoy peace, even though it was purchased for them through the cross.  Often, we pray for things we’re not given assurance of in Scripture: things like physical healing, financial prosperity, and the salvation of friends and loved ones. But when it comes to peace, that is something assured to us in God’s Word. Jesus said in John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful."  Now it is impossible to experience God's wonderful peace until we first encounter God's amazing grace. Grace is the power, and peace is the result. God extends his peace to those who receive His grace. And no matter how badly you may have sinned, He is there. As Corrie ten Boom once said, "No pit is so deep, that He is not deeper still."  Now that’s real hope!
