His name was Joseph. The way he carried himself communicated to people that God was able, no matter how bleak the situation might be. His mentors noticed how encouraging Joseph was, and they changed his name to Barnabas, “which translated means, Son of Encouragement.” Wouldn’t it be awesome to have a name change like that? You can be a Barnabas, too, if you view life from God’s perspective, view people as they can be, and take time to encourage others. Let me encourage you to make it a daily priority to compliment and praise the people around you, especially your own family members. They often need it the most. Encouragement brings joy to others and joy to us. You CAN be a Barnabas! Now THAT’S REAL HOPE.
