How to silence the subtle lies of Satan
by Pastor Jeff
Every November in a village pub in northwest England, contestants from around the world gather for a one-of-a-kind annual event …
It’s the World’s Biggest Liar contest.
It’s been going on for over 150 years but, I’m afraid to say, it’s a waste of time. Because the winner of that annual trophy will never actually be the World’s Biggest Liar.
That title belongs to Satan.
He’s the biggest liar, the original liar, and also the best liar to ever exist. As Scripture tells us, he’s the father of lies (John 8:44) and the deceiver of the whole world (Revelation 12:9).
One reason the devil is such a master at spinning falsehood is because the lies he speaks are often very subtle.
Think back to his conversation with Eve in the Garden of Eden. He begins with one little question …
“Indeed has God said, ‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’?” (Genesis 3:1)
Satan’s question was loaded with a subtle poison. He says, in effect, “Hey, Eve. I’m just trying to understand something here, and maybe you can help me out. Has God really said that you can’t eat from any tree in the garden?”
Actually that is not what God had said. There was only one forbidden tree!
But the devil is subtle and crafty. He takes God’s word and deliberately distorts it. He slyly questions both the Word of God and the character and goodness of God.
Let’s not kid ourselves. The evil one works the same way in your life and mine. It often begins with a tiny seed of doubt … “Can I really trust God? Is He really good?”
My friend, there’s only one way to counter this subtle strategy of Satan. And that’s by having these two rock solid realities chiseled on your heart:
God is good. And He loves me.
How can you know that’s true, beyond a shadow of a doubt? Well to quote that wonderful song …
“Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.”
Next time Satan begins his sly whispering—open your Bible and fight back with the truth!
Q&A with Pastor Jeff
Q: When life feels hard, how can I believe that God is for me?
A: When you find yourself in a dark time, a lonely time, or a season of hurt, pain, or fear, the father of lies wants you to conclude that God isn’t as good or loving as you thought He was. We are never more vulnerable to Satan’s fake news than when we are in pain. The secret is to look away from your troubles and lock your gaze again on the Lord. Then, instead of viewing God through the lens of your circumstances, you’ll view your circumstances through the lens of God.
Q: What’s the biggest lie Satan tells?
A: Oftentimes, Satan’s strategy is subtlety. But he tells blatant lies too. Try this one on for size: You can sin and suffer no consequences. It’s one of the lies he spun to Eve in the garden (“You surely will not die!” Genesis 3:4). And he’s been telling it ever since.
The tragedy is that our culture has bought into this lie hook, line, and sinker. At every turn, voices are telling us that we can do whatever we want as long as it feels good.
The truth of it is that sin always has devastating consequences. It wrecks people’s relationships with others, and ultimately it cuts people off from God.
But, praise God, sin doesn’t have the final word. Sinners can find freedom in the grace, love, and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. That’s the truth.
Tune out Satan’s lies and tune in to God’s truth!
The devil disguises himself as an angel of light. He speaks subtle, blatant, and twisted lies. His goal is to get you to doubt the goodness of God, to question the truth of Scripture, and to let go of your hope in Jesus.
My book The Devil’s Newsroom empowers you to fight back against these evil tactics—sharpening your discernment, strengthening your faith, and equipping you to tune out the enemy’s lies and tune in to the life-changing truth of God.
I’m so thankful for your partnership. Your generosity makes it possible to proclaim biblical truth into the chaos of our day, pushing back against the enemy’s lies and making people free in Jesus!

Godʼs way is always right

Have you ever had this experience? You’re driving to a new place and are relying on your GPS to get you there. You put in the address and everything is going great for a while until you start getting directions to go down side streets, or you’re directed to take an exit that’s closed. All too often, our GPS systems can get us into trouble because they are not caught up on the current road situations.
As believers we have a road map that is NEVER wrong! God has given us His Word to direct us and He NEVER makes mistakes. And, although we can know this and believe this, all too often we are tempted to listen to our feelings and do things our own way… even when it goes against what God has said.
We must always keep these two facts front and center in our minds and hearts:
The devil wants you to think God’s way is all wrong.
The Lord wants you to know that His was is ALWAYS right.
Psalm 19: 7-9
“The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether.”
So…regardless of your feelings or popular opinion – DO WHAT THE LORD SAYS! Follow His Word, His ways and let the Holy Spirit fill you and guide you.
As Jeff says, you’ll be blessed and happy when you stop DEBATING and start OBEYING.
A Note To You From Pastor Jeff
Dear Friend,
With fake news at every turn, people everywhere are overwhelmed by half-truths, clever distortions, and outright lies. This confusion isn’t accidental—it’s absolutely intentional.
Behind it stands the master deceiver, the father of lies, the devil himself.
The only weapon strong enough to bring him down is the sword of the Spirit—the word of God!
That’s why I’m so thankful for your prayers and support which make it possible to proclaim biblical truth around the world, rescuing people from the grip of the enemy’s lies and setting them on the firm foundation of the God’s word.
I’m deeply grateful for partnership. Jesus has won the victory and His truth will prevail. Let’s keep sharing it together!
You’re changing lives through God’s truth!
