  • Standing Up for Truth

06/14/2021 I believe we are living in the last of the last days. The signs of Christ's soon return are all around us. One of the telltale signs that this is the last of the last days is the hatred of the world toward those who are standing up for the Lord and His Word, for absolutes, and holiness, and godly moral standards. America used to value Christianity—but not anymore. The moral revolution has cast Christianity to the side. As Al Mohler put it, “What was condemned is now celebrated, what was celebrated is now condemned, and those who refuse to celebrate are condemned.” Continue reading…

  • Marriage Is Worth It

06/11/2021 Let’s face it: having a good marriage is not easy. All marriages go through tough times … and too many couples choose to bail out rather than work it out. Most of the time, the difference between the marriages that survive and marriages that don’t is not that the one marriage had problems and the other didn’t. The difference is that one couple refused to quit! Now I know that sometimes, marriage vows are broken through repeated adultery, abuse, or abandonment, and there may be no other recourse than divorce… but for every marriage that can’t be saved, there are hundreds that can be … Continue reading…

  • Hyper-Grace

06/10/2021 There is a movement afoot that is catching fire in churches all over America. It is called the ‘hyper-grace movement.’ That term is used to describe a new wave of doctrine that emphasizes the grace of God to the near exclusion of all other aspects of His character. Hyper-grace teaching trumps truth and downplays confession, repentance, obedience, and holiness. Continue reading…

  • Grace and Truth

06/9/2021 Have you heard the age-old expression, “Love the sinner, but hate the sin?” Well, the new teaching in some Christian circles is "love the sinner and the sin." The argument goes like this: if you don't embrace the person, sin and all, you are not really expressing the love of God to them. Hmm. Does that really coincide with Scripture? Does God love the sinner and his sin? No. Continue reading…

  • Forgiveness is Not Reconciliation

06/8/2021 Are you a “forgiving” person? The Scripture is clear on this subject. God commands us to be forgiving, but sometimes we don’t understand what it really means to forgive. Forgiveness is not the same thing as reconciliation. Forgiveness is what we as Christian grant to those who wrong us, whether they ask for it or not. It is unilateral. We choose to forgive so that we can be set free from the prison of bitterness. Continue reading…

  • Bringing Light In Dark Days

06/7/2021 When I read the paper each morning, I feel a bit like Marty McFly in in the movie Back to the Future II. The malevolent "Biff" is now in charge, and the world has become a brutal, evil, violent place. Jesus said, "For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah." Those days of Noah were filled with vice and violence, spiritual apathy and social anarchy. Continue reading…

  • Be Angry But Do Not Sin

06/4/2021 Let’s face it: everyone gets angry from time to time. And Anger comes in two forms. There is righteous anger and unrighteous anger. Righteous anger is felt when we encounter sin, corruption and injustice. That type of anger is appropriate. The Lord has righteous anger. But, there is also unrighteous anger, that is the anger that comes when things don’t go our way, when circumstances and people offend us. Continue reading…

  • A Fruitful Life

06/3/2021 In the Book of Ruth, Naomi – whose name means pleasantness – lost her husband and her two sons in the space of ten short years. She has broken and bitter and asked her friends to quit calling her Naomi and start calling her Mara, which means bitterness. Her life had not gone as she had planned, and she was very bitter. You know, our world today is filled with bitter people. Continue reading…

  • Let Him Rise!

06/2/2021 Hall of fame champion wrestler, Andre the Giant, was a mountain of a man. He stood 7’ 4’’ and weighed in at a whopping 500 pounds! Once he was in a pub minding his own business when some inebriated tough guys taunted the gentle giant. Although a kind and patient man, Andre’s patience wasn’t without limit. When he had endured enough, He got up, chased those punks into the parking lot. Continue reading…

  • Making the Best of the Worst

06/1/2021 He was only 17 when his life was turned upside down. His brothers betrayed him. He ended up a slave in a foreign land. He didn’t know the culture, the language, or the customs. What would he do? Would he Curse God and die? Would he Plot revenge? Would he Wallow in self-pity and depression? Or ... would he emotionally regroup, give his problems to God and let the Lord make lemonade out of the lemons? Well, that's exactly what Joseph did, by God's grace. Continue reading…
