Looking Up to the God Who Loves Me

When I was in college, I still remember walking home from studying at the library.  I would look up into the night sky and think about the greatness of God.  David said in the Psalms, “When I consider Your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that You have ordained.  What is man that You take thought of him, or the son of man that You care for him?  Or the son of man, that You care for him?” (Psalm 8:3-4).  God is so much greater than our minds could ever comprehend.  Here is the amazing part: this same, infinite God is crazy in love with you and me.  There is nothing that you can do to get God to love you any more or any less than He already does.  He just loves you!  Your job is to receive it and to rejoice in it.  Tonight, go outside and look up into the starry sky.  Share your hopes and fears with God.  He works in the hearts of those who will look to Him and wait for Him.  Now that’s real hope.
