Who Do You Hang With?
Who do you hang out with? Who are your running buddies? Proverbs 13:20 says, “He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” Here is the hard truth. If you’re hanging out with fools it won't be long before you are a fool, too. That’s why you and I need right associations. Paul said, "Do not be deceived: Bad company corrupts good morals" (1 Corinthians 15:33). When I came to Christ as a 17-year-old high school senior, I knew I needed to make new friends in order to grow in my relationship with Jesus. All my old friends were great guys, but they were not godly guys. If I kept hanging out with them, I’d never break free from the hedonistic lifestyle I had grown accustomed to. Listen, sometimes friend assessment and friend adjustment need to be done so you can grow in your faith. Ask God to lead you to some wise, godly friends who will pick you up, and not pull you down. Obey the Word of God, because it is the Word where you will find Real Hope!
