George Whitefield was the great British evangelist of the 18th century. On a trip to America to preach and evangelize, Whitefield make this stinging observation: “I am greatly persuaded that the generality of preachers talk of an unknown, unfelt Christ.  And the reason why congregations have been so dead is because dead men preach to them.”  Wow! I believe there are multitudes of dry, lifeless churches in America today where preachers tell people of a Jesus they don’t personally know and never truly seek. Their sermons lack the Word of God, the fear of God, and the power of God. Listen, if you are living a lifeless, joyless, powerless religion, the time is now to trade it in for the real thing. The Lord wants you to have life, not religion. Now that’s Real Hope!
