Why Jesus Is So Important

We Can Trust That Jesus Is Who He Said He Is

One of the greatest privileges I have had as a pastor is to talk with people about the person of Jesus.  Who is He?  Just a carpenter from Nazareth turned preacher?  Just a good man who was a great teacher?  Just a miracle worker?

Scholar and author, C. S. Lewis, presented three options concerning Jesus:

  1. He is a liar who said He was the Son of God but was not.
  2. He is a lunatic who thought He was the Son of God and was not.
  3. He is truly the Lord God, the Son of God and God the Son.

If you will honestly examine the evidence, you will find that Jesus wasn't some snake oil salesman, peddling a lie to make Himself rich and famous. You will find that He is not a lunatic who needed to be locked up and put in a strait jacket. Based on the things Jesus said and did (the miracles are resounding proof), He is who He claimed to be: the Son of God and God the Son. The Bible says,

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us" (John 1:1; 1:14).

God became a man ... and we know that man as Jesus, the second person in the Holy Trinity.

But not only is Jesus the Son of God, He is also the Savior of the world.  Jesus said,

"I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me" (John 14:6).

Anyone and everyone who has ever existed needs a Savior.

We are sinners, every single one of us.  The Bible clearly tells us,

"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Rom. 3:23).  The wages for our sins is death (Romans 6:23)

... and there is NOTHING any of us can do to change this.

Jesus came to give us life, eternal life and abundant life.  His death, burial and resurrection enables every sinner to be forgiven and set free.  All you have to do is repent and believe.  As you and I turn from our sins to the Savior ... as we quit trusting in our effort and good works to get us to heaven and start trusting in Jesus Christ alone and His good work done on the cross, we receive the gift of eternal life.  We receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, who comes to dwell in us to empower us to really live a life of love, joy, peace, and victory.

From His Heart exists to help people understand this great truth. God wants you to realize that you were created to know Him, love Him, and glorify Him.  This is the only thing that gives true meaning, purpose, and joy to life.

I would humbly ask you to take a moment and read the materials in this section of our site and ask God to speak to your heart.  If you earnestly, openly, and honestly ask and seek the Lord, you will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13).  That is a promise from God to us. I found Him in 1980, and I want you to find Him, too.

Matthew 7:7 makes it clear,

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened."

Love,
